The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Shri AbdulQayoom-JKPS, convened a comprehensive security and crime review meeting todayat the District Police Lines Kishtwar. The meeting was held to review the crimeand security arrangements made in view of ongoing Machail MataYatra-2024 whichwas attended by Addl. SP Kishtwar, SDPOs, SHOs, IC PPs, IOs, and other seniorofficers.

During the meeting, SSP Kishtwar addressed several criticalaspects related to crime prevention, investigation, community safety, andenhancing the security of the ongoing Shri Machail Mata Yatra. The primaryobjectives were as follows:

1. Review of Recent Crime Trends: A thorough examination ofrecent crime trends and statistics in the Kishtwar district was conducted toidentify areas of concern.

2. Progress in Ongoing Investigations: The status of ongoingcriminal investigations was reviewed to ensure timely resolution and justicefor victims.

3. Enhancing Community Policing: Strategies to strengthencommunity policing and enhance public safety were discussed, with an emphasison community involvement in maintaining law and order.

4. Evaluation of Crime Prevention Initiatives: Theeffectiveness of current crime prevention initiatives was assessed to optimizeresources and improve outcomes.

5. Combatting Drug Abuse: Measures to tackle drug abusewithin the district were deliberated, focusing on prevention, rehabilitation,and enforcement.

6. Addressing Bovine Smuggling: Strategies to curb bovinesmuggling activities were reviewed, underscoring the need for coordinatedefforts to combat this illegal practice.

7. Anti-Militancy Operations: Updates on anti-militancyoperations and strategies were provided, highlighting the importance ofvigilance to ensure the safety and security of the region.

It was emphasized that daily updates on these issues wouldbe maintained through the E-beat book records, facilitating real-time monitoringand response.

SSP Kishtwar further directed the officers to lead inconducting area domination/patrolling and speculative/specific CASOs invulnerable areas/pockets. Important directions were imparted among the officersto remain extra vigilant, strengthen nakas/checkpoints, and generate actionableintelligence to thwart the nefarious designs of anti-national elements.
